Description:

The goals of the grant are to: 1) build three more Project Branch Out Greenhouses at the EnergyXchange Renewable Energy Center; 2) identify and demonstrate alternative income crops for local tobacco growers–with emphasis on native plants; 3) continue a high school horticultural apprenticeship in Project Branch Out Greenhouses; and 4) provide start-up financial assistance to at least 5 growers in the region.
