Description:

This Golden LEAF grant will support the implemention of an Associate Degree Program in Biotechnology starting in May 2003. The purpose of the project is to serve as a training program for DSM Pharmaceutical’s personnel needs for an expansion that will require a minimum of 50 lab technicians with a biotechnology background and an associate degree. Students completing the Biotechnology Associate Degree program at Pitt Community College will have the opportunity to obtain a B.S. degree in Biotechnology at East Carolina University or at any other UNC institution with two years of additional study.
