The purpose of this Golden LEAF grant is to continue to support Phase I infrastructure development at the Piedmont Triad Research Park. The project is leveraging support form Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem State University, the City of Winston-Salem, and others to convert Winston-Salem’s downtown tobacco warehousing district into a new urban research park. Related efforts have already resulted in the creation of new businesses and high-skill jobs. The Park expects to be home to 1,000 jobs by 2010.
