Oxford Height Bridge Replacement/Relocation Project

Organization:
City of Elizabeth City
Amount:
$250,000.00
Program Area:
Disaster Recovery Grant Program
County of Applicant:
Pasquotank
Year:
2018
Description:

The Providence Road bridge into the Oxford Heights neighborhood floods frequently. Providence Road is the only entrance/exit for the neighborhood. During Hurricane Matthew, residents of Oxford Heights were stranded for several days. The most cost effective and resilient solution to this problem is to relocate the entrance to the other side of the neighborhood. Golden LEAF Hurricane Matthew Disaster Recovery grant funds will be used for construction of an alternate entrance into the neighborhood. The city funds will be used for property acquisition and for construction.
