The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to North Carolina’s Northeast Economic Development Corporation to implement a regional school innovation and continuous improvement training program in partnership with middle school programs in the Bertie, Beaufort, Dare, Halifax, Hertford, Martin, Northampton, Pasquotank county school districts and Weldon City School District. By participating in a series of professional development events and on-site coaching, district teams will learn the principles of project-based learning and develop a project-based learning project for their students that addresses real-world issues facing regional employers. Golden LEAF funds will pay for professional development, project management and outreach for teachers and administrators in the nine school districts.
Any project more than a couple of years old may not reflect current Board priorities.
