Description:

This Golden LEAF grant will support the NC Dairy Advantage program as it helps North Carolina dairy producers evaluate information to make effective and efficient decisions to improve profitability. The program offers farm assessments and more intensive profit teams to dairy producers to help them address issues that are affecting their operations. Past profit teams have led to significant improvements in animal health and milk production, reduced expenses, and increased net revenues at participating farms. The project will also offer training in risk management, and farm transition, and develop economic benchmarks for use in dairy expansion. Services will be of benefit to milk producers and value-added dairy producers.
