The purpose of this grant is to assist the Montgomery County Council on Aging, in cooperation with the county Cooperative Extension office, with the installation of a commercial kitchen to be located at the Montgomery County Agricultural and Civic Center in Troy. The kitchen will (1) provide a place for the Council on Aging to prepare meals for its senior nutrition program; (2) provide a place for farmers and others to create ‘value added’ products; and, (3) provide a catering kitchen for use for facility events. Golden LEAF funds would be utilized for planning, constructing, and equipping the kitchen.
