The Core Sound Waterfowl Museum suffered major roof damage as a result of Hurricane Florence. The museum’s insurance will provide funds to return the roof to pre-disaster condition, including use of asphalt shingles. Due to issues encountered with the recently installed shingled roof, the museum proposes to replace the damaged roof with a metal system. Golden LEAF Hurricane Florence Disaster Recovery grant funds will be used to support replacement of the roof. Insurance proceeds and other grant funds will be used to complete the project.
