The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to Vidant Beaufort Hospital for an upgrade of the linear accelerator at its Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center. The linear accelerator upgrade is part of a planned $3.24 million space expansion and equipment upgrade that will allow the Center to increase quality of care by upgrading its linear accelerator to newer technology, increase patient access to onsite treatment and planning, and decrease both patient expense and outmigration of patients requiring cancer diagnosis and treatment services.
