Pierce’s disease is a deadly infection, carried by insects, that can kill infected grape vines in one to two years. This Golden LEAF grant will support work to develop a program to manage Pierce’s Disease in grapes grown in the Piedmont region of North Carolina through pruning, insecticide treatment for vector control, and management or removal of disease hosts surrounding the vineyards.
Any project more than a couple of years old may not reflect current Board priorities.
