Description:

This project is designed to assist current burley tobacco farmers as they make the transition from growing tobacco to growing other crops or to alternative careers. To accomplish this objective, up to 25 farmers will be provided assistance with growing alternative crops and entrepreneurial training. Additionally, funding will be used to support a strategic planning process as the county adapts to declining markets for burley tobacco.
