This award provides funding to St. Gerard House (SGH), a comprehensive autism center in western N.C. offering a continuum of care from diagnosis to adulthood, to expand its facilities to help meet demand. SGH currently has a list of 130 families awaiting services and plans to address this waitlist through a multi-phase construction project. Golden LEAF funds would be associated with Phase 1 of the project, which will create 40 new full-time positions, at an average salary of $36,690; provide training for new workers that will lead to a 3rd-party/industry credential; serve an additional 50 clients with medically necessary services; and provide pre-vocational training to an additional 28 young adults with disabilities. Golden LEAF funds will be used toward construction-related costs.
Any project more than a couple of years old may not reflect current Board priorities.
