Description:

The purpose of this grant is to assist Davidson County Community College with the expansion of its training capacity in automation controls and to integrate automation skills training into the Electronics Engineering Technology and Manufacturing Technology programs. The College will add an automated machining cell so that 50 or more students per year can receive training in robotic programming, control and simulation. Local employers in Davidson and Davie Counties have indicated a strong demand for this training capacity both for incumbent workers and new hires. The project will strengthen the capacity of both the College and region to meet the needs of current and future advanced manufacturing companies.
