Hurricane Florence Relief

Tabernacle Baptist Church
Program Area:
Disaster Recovery Grant Program
County of Applicant:

Three sump pumps in the basement of the Tabernacle Baptist Church failed because of power loss caused by Hurricane Florence. The basement is approximately 7,000 square feet and is used for youth programs, Sunday school, and choir practice. It also includes a kitchen and dining area used for community programs. Water destroyed three freezers, two refrigerators, food and clothes for the needy, electronic equipment, pews, chairs, youth equipment, tile flooring, and damaged walls. Golden LEAF Hurricane Florence Disaster Recovery grant funds are requested to reimburse for infrastructure repair expenses not covered by insurance proceeds.
