Description:

This Golden LEAF grant will support efforts of UNC-Chapel Hill to test and refine a system of pre-k through 12th grade interventions in Halifax County aimed at improving the life outcomes of African American males who are at risk of academic failure due to social, economic, and educational challenges. The project emphasizes community collaboration and will work with existing local institutions that are working to support African American males in the County. This grant will provide a rural site that will complement ongoing work to implement a similar effort in Durham.
