The North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority (NCSEAA) will continue to administer the Golden LEAF Scholars Program. The program provides tuition-only scholarships of up to $12,000 ($3,000/ year for four years) to college students from rural counties that are economically distressed or tobacco-dependent. Scholars must attend a four-year school in North Carolina. The goal of the program is to equip students with knowledge and leadership skills that will benefit their communities upon graduation.
