Description:

This grant provides funding to the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) for continuing support of the Golden LEAF Scholars Leadership Program. CCL plans to recruit 120 freshman Golden LEAF scholars for the program and to retain a total of 224 current scholars: 109 freshmen, 65 sophomores, and 50 juniors. The leadership training program begins with a two-day leadership development conference in January, a paid summer internship in a rural county, and a final two-day conference in September. Freshmen and sophomores also receive individualized coaching for eight months of the year and juniors participate in online peer coaching. Student stipends are the largest single expense and account for nearly half of the grant amount.
