Description:

Generators at the Town Hall and Public Safety Building failed as a result of Hurricane Florence. Because of the generators’ age, estimated cost of repairs exceeding value, and the the need to upsize to meet the capacity needs of the building, the town chose to replace each generator with a larger one rather than attempt repairs. Golden LEAF disaster recovery grant funds will be used to reimburse the town for the costs incurred to replace the generator at the Public Safety Building. Insurance proceeds and FEMA Public Assistance were also used towards the project.
