This Golden LEAF grant will support the first year of ‘A REAL Pathway’ which establishes a comprehensive approach to entrepreneurship education in Yadkin and Surry counties. Components include teacher training in entrepreneurship education, course alignment from high school to Surry Community College to regional career opportunities; and creation of a community structure supporting and sustaining entrepreneurship education at all levels. A comprehensive Entrepreneurship Education Plan will be implemented to: 1) increase educators’ understanding of how to integrate entrepreneurship across career and STEM courses; 2) align courses/programs from high school to Surry CC to regional opportunities; 3) create a Regional Entrepreneurship Support Team to offer entrepreneurship events at all levels; and 4) start new business enterprises in the region.
