FCC North Carolina, LLC (the ‘Company’) is an auto parts manufacturing company that is expanding its production in Scotland County, North Carolina. As part of its expansion, the Company will invest $114 million in plant and equipment plus benefits at an industrial park in Laurinburg and create 96 new jobs with average wages of $33,000. The Company initially considered whether to locate this expansion in Scotland County or at its manufacturing facility in Indiana. This project will bring the total number of FCC employees in Scotland County to approximately 335 and is in addition to another recently announced expansion of 60 employees. In order to locate the facility at the site, the City of Laurinburg must provide public water and sewer infrastructure at a total cost of $9.75 million.
