Description:

The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to WNC Communities to help WNC family farmers increase their livestock-related income. Participating farmers will learn strategies to earn more, increase herd size, and expand market opportunities. The project will refine and expand proven training and support programs offered by cooperative extension and others to help farmers maximize their livestock sales prices and on-farm income. Though some training is already available, access is limited. Golden LEAF funds will be used for personnel, contracted support, travel, and other program expenses.
