Description:

Golden LEAF funds will support Central Carolina Community College’s efforts to lead the NC Community College Systems’ Energy Sector Curriculum Improvement Project that incorporates curriculum innovation, professional development, and broad-based participation among community colleges, businesses, and industries to develop programs to prepare students for the workforce demands of North Carolina’s green energy economy. The effort is part of a larger NC Community College System-wide curriculum improvement program that is incorporating green principles across disciplines. Working groups will generate a streamlined program structure and develop assessments to ensure that graduates emerge with industry-certified competencies and skills in the generation, transmission, storage, distribution, and utilization of traditional and renewable energy.
