Description:

The purpose of this Golden LEAF grant is to support the planning, implementation, training and placement of School Medical Coordinators into each of the 16 schools within the Martin and Pamlico county school systems. Pitt Community College leads this cooperative effort with Martin Community College, Martin County Schools, Martin County General Hospital, Pamlico Community College, Pamlico County Schools, and Pamlico Health Department. This project will significantly improve the medical and social conditions of children in eastern North Carolina, resulting in an economic and social improvement in the lives of the people of the region.
