The purpose of this grant is to assist the Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools (NRMPS) with the implementation of the 21st Century Professional Learning for Educators initiative, a 1:1 computer technology plan for student in grades 4-12. The plan includes professional development and incorporates best practices from a recent pilot program that deployed laptops to all students at three schools. NRMPS will equip teachers with the effective digital literacy skills to prepare students for a global economy, particularly in the areas of science, technology, engineering, art/design and mathematics. Golden LEAF funds will be used for costs associated with professional development, such as training, teacher stipends, equipment and travel.
Any project more than a couple of years old may not reflect current Board priorities.
