The Food Distribution Division of NCDA&CS distributes North Carolina Farm-to-School produce to recipient agencies. The purpose of this grant is to provide funds to the Division to purchase a new cooler to expand the NC Farm-to-School program. The additional storage capacity will allow more schools and farmers to participate in the program creating additional annual income of $135,000 for farmers. Golden LEAF funds would be used to purchase a 30’X60′ cooler.
