Description:

The purpose of this Golden LEAF grant is to assist the New Bern Historical Society Foundation with the restoration of the Battle of New Bern Civil War Battlefield. The Battlefield will be part of the Civil War Trails program and an important complement to existing Civil War historic sites in eastern North Carolina. The project is expected to boost the economic impact of tourism in the region, and to be a part of the New Bern’s tricentennial celebration.
