The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to Caswell County to renovate the Caswell County Public Library and construct a wing on the existing building. The expansion will create quiet study rooms, space for additional public computers, capacity for additional classroom space to hold simultaneous programs (including tutoring and career workshops), and install innovative learning spaces to host Makerspace and STEM programs, which would benefit the entire community. Currently the library’s limited space does not allow for user privacy or simultaneous programing. With architectural renderings in hand, a USDA REDLG loan commitment backed by the county, and county ownership of the property, construction can be completed within two years.
