Description:

The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to Montgomery County Schools (MCS) to continue professional development needed to successfully equip its instructional staff with the technology-rich instructional skills to prepare Montgomery County students with the skills necessary to compete in a global economy. MCS anticipates training over 45% of the teaching staff. Golden LEAF awarded a grant to MCS in December 2014 to match a $2 million federal i3 award to assist the district with integrating technology into instructional practice in all schools in the district. Golden LEAF funds will be used to complete teacher professional development requirements.
