The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to Campbell University to help establish North Carolina’s first school of osteopathic medicine. Funds would be applied toward equipment for the school’s Simulation and Anatomy Labs. Within four years the project is expected to create a minimum of 100 new jobs with an average salary of $98,271. The school will provide third and fourth year medical students training through partnerships with 15 community hospital systems in eastern North Carolina. The primary objective for the project is to increase the number of primary care physicians serving the rural areas of the state.
Any project more than a couple of years old may not reflect current Board priorities.
