This award provides funding to Burke County for costs related to constructing publicly owned water infrastructure that will serve the site in Burke County Industrial Park on which UNIX Packaging, LLC will construct a warehouse and distribution center. UNIX Packaging, a bottling company headquartered in Montibello, CA, has two manufacturing facilities on the west coast and a recently opened bottling facility in Morganton, NC. The company will create 100 new jobs at an average wage of $41,384 at the new warehouse facility. The county average wage is $39,499. UNIX Packaging is also expected to make a capital investment of $25,950,000 at the site. The North Carolina Department of Commerce will extend sewer to serve the UNIX site. Water and sewer extensions can also serve other parcels within Burke County Industrial Park.
