Open Grants Program
County of Applicant:

The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to Nash Community College to support design and construction of a biomanufacturing training facility at the College’s new Corporate Training Wing. Funds will also be used to provide a synchronous training unit that will allow offsite employers and trainers to interact with students. The new facility will provide training capabilities that can benefit a broad range of biomanufacturing companies in the Nash County region, including Hospira, Inc., which is one of Nash County’s largest employers. Training will be provided for students that need requisite skills to be eligible for employment in bio-manufacturing including gowning and aseptic handling.
