The Tobacco Farm Life Museum was established to preserve the history and cultural heritage of the eastern North Carolina tobacco farm family and to interpret and present this legacy to the public. Located in Kenly, Johnston County, the museum attracts tourists interested in folklife, tobacco production, and agriculture in general. Educational programs are also regular fare of the museum. This grant is to be used for an Agricultural Heritage Outreach Program that will include traveling exhibits, a lecture series, workshops and classes for youth, organizing tours to local farms, and an on-site farmers market, all of which are designed to provide expanded support to the museum and revenues for participating farmers.
Any project more than a couple of years old may not reflect current Board priorities.
