Description:

The purpose of this grant is to provide funding to the Surry Community College Foundation to equip the Industrial Training Center on Surry Community College’s Yadkin Center campus. The center will provide advanced manufacturing training in mechatronics, electronics engineering, electrical systems, welding, and computer integrated machining, targeting the needs of new and expanding business and industry. The long-term goal of the project is the development of a career/employment pipeline for the general public and high school graduates. Progress will be evaluated through student internship opportunities, completion of certificate, diploma, and degree credentials in technical programs, and post-graduation employment in the field of study. Golden LEAF funds will be used to purchase equipment.
